Welcome to the launch of my new, Awesome Real Estate Website. That’s not bragging, that’s really what this new platform was called by the guys who created it. LOL. I made the change from my old websites to this new one because I wanted a more interactive presence here on the dear old World Wide Web.
In case you’re wondering about the name, it’s a bit of a homage to the agent who sold me my house, and who encouraged me to become a REALTOR® myself. It’s also the thing I most wish more people understood about buying and selling residential real estate. It really isn’t “rocket science”. There are a lot of moving parts to a real estate transaction, whether you are buying your first house or selling an investment property, but the basic mechanics are the same, pretty much anywhere you go. And anyone can learn how to successfully navigate a real estate transaction, anyone.
So my goal with this new platform is to help you, whether you’re a buyer or seller, to understand the process and feel comfortable that you really know what you’re getting into before you jump feet first into buying or selling a home.
Some of you are undoubtedly thinking, “Hey, wait… if you tell me how to do what you do, then why would I hire you? I could just do it myself. Right?” In some cases, you would be absolutely right, but really, if you’re the gung-ho do-it-yourselfer that wants to take on this kind of a project, you probably would have done it yourself anyway. In that case, I’m hoping you’ll be a little better prepared for what’s ahead. If, on the other hand, you’re not the sort of person who makes their own clothes, bakes their own bread, changes the oil in their car, and fixes their own computer when it crashes, then my goal is to help you understand the process well enough so that when you do set out to buy or sell a house, you know what to expect, and you’ll be able to tell whether or not the professionals you hire to help you are earning their keep.
I will undoubtedly write about things that I find topical, whether the subject arises out of situation I have dealt with recently myself, or it’s just something that catches my eye in real estate news of the day. I’ll also be writing about the different aspects of the process of buying or selling a house, and the different professionals you’ll be meeting along the way. I’m hoping to convince a few of my favorite partners to guest blog and tell you about what they do and why it’s important to the success of your real estate transaction.
And I hope you’ll send me your questions. One of the things I love most about being a REALTOR® is helping people. So if you have a real estate related question, send it along. If I get enough questions on a regular basis, I’ll turn the answers into a regular weekly blog post.
